Challenge:
A city Health Department which works as a host agent for its region has become responsible for enabling the regional communities to maintain its volunteers for emergency preparedness. The biggest challenge with the project was to create a system that integrated the needs and the data for the various communities within the region while keeping each community separate for security purposes. The key requirements included allowing personnel at various role levels to access the system and securely maintaining volunteers' contact, license, credential, availability and preference information.
Approach:
Aciron worked very closely with the client personnel to identify, define, and document
the key requirements of capturing data and security for the system. By carrying
out regular status updates and keeping the client engaged, we delivered a system
that performed exactly as the client anticipated.
Solution:
Aciron developed an online Volunteer Management System that was accessible by authorized
users of the system. A security framework within the system was developed allowing
access for certain users to certain areas of the application. The system was found
to be so intuitive and user-friendly, that no HELP function was deemed to be necessary
within the application.
