Challenge:

A large engineering firm concurrently manages various projects for its own clients. The project management teams were unhappy with the time and energy spent on manually creating regular status reports for multiple projects for the same client. They also desired a quicker, more efficient way to internally manage their tasks, deadlines, and assignments. Thus, the challenge was to assist in the coordination and organization of the projects teams both internally and externally.

Approach:

Aciron prepared a story-board (or screen mock-ups) to help the client visualize the system before it was built. The process helped the client further clearly define the critical needs for their system. The application was developed on a phase-by-phase basis so that the project management teams could immediately begin using the system for its most critical needs. With subsequent phases, the project’s functionality could be extended with ease.

Solution:

Aciron created an intranet solution – a browser-based, database driven project management application to bring the entire project team on a single platform. The application allowed the project management teams to assign tasks to fellow team members, and easily provide and receive updates on any given project. The application enabled the project managers to manage projects more effectively and generate status reports with a click of a button.
